We have Fullblood and Percentage Boer and Savanna with many quality commercial ladies of each breed.
Boers-
Traditionally Boer goats are known for their somewhat questionable mothering ability. In our herd we only keep animals that have ample milk, and that produce good weaning weights. The instinct to protect their young is also a trait we select for. We also select for animals that keep good body condition regardless of the life stage they are in.
aka: "Roxy"
Roxy is easily my favorite goat of our herd. She has given us many wonderful color combinations and passed on her mamma bear qualities to her daughters.
Produces good solid traditional kids. Has that great mamma bear instinct and puts our a ton of milk.
One of our great commercial does. While not registered herself, she has produced numerous red and paint kids that had great growth and breed characteristics. Her kids are registerable upon request.
Another great commercial Doe. Hazel and her sister were the only kids out of a previous herd sire of ours. She produces great red and paint kids with great muscle and spunk. Her kids are registerable upon request.
aka: "Rigel"
Registered art 94% she has given us unique combinations of red in her offspring. She has strong protective and mothering instincts and is an easy keeper. Major milk production.
aka: "Minerva"
94% registered. She has lived up to her lines success. She has given us a future dappled herd sire and impressive red kids. Major milk production.
aka: "Mocha"
She was a great first timer. Unfortunately she wasn't paired up with the buck we wanted. We ended up a surprise.
One of our commercial does, she has impressed us right out of the gate this year. She produced red and paint kids with superior muscling. She maintains herself very well.
Another of our commercial does. She has impressed us with the heavy weaning weights of her traditional kids.
Savannas-
These girls delivered on all the positive traits of their breed, good mothering, easy keeping, and pest resistance. Last year was an experimental year so we are looking forward to seeing what this next year will bring. We have a few 100% registered girls and some high percentage commercial girls.
It has been a treat seeing her grow into the doe she is, can't wait to see how she will handle kids.
Such a friendly sweet girl. Can't wait to see what she will produce for us.
